I hope you all had fantastic weekends! I spent the weekend here in the Queen City working on DIY projects for my apartment and visiting farmers markets. I also discovered two great restaurants, Luna’s Living Kitchen and Fern. Both very healthy and fresh. Ever been?
February was a busy busy month. I went to visit family up in Jersey, flew down to Amelia Island for a couple days at the Ritz for a work trip and enjoyed a relaxing weekend in the mountains of Valle Crucis with good friends. This is my favorite shot from my time in Amelia Island. More pictures of my February experiences coming later this week.
Whether it be to visit friends or family, I know many of us will be doing at least a little bit of traveling over the holidays. See below for what to wear during your holiday 2012 travels!
Bobbi Brown ‘Pretty Powerful Uber Basics’ High Shimmer Lip Gloss ✈ Steve Madden “Tolteca” Boot ✈ Lily White Maxi Skirt ✈ Topshop Leather Crossbody Bag ✈ MICHAEL Michael Kors Peasant Tunic Top ✈ BaubleBar Black Fringe Bib ✈ Chocolove Dark Chocolate Bar
And in case you missed it, here were my “What to Wear” suggestions for Thanksgiving.
Last week my boss called me into the office with that tone that only means trouble. “Sam, can you come into my office for a moment?” Uh-oh. So I walk in and she started with “I know you are busy, and you are travelling to Atlanta the week after, but we’d like you to go to San Diego..” yeah and that’s all I remember. SO, point being- on Sunday I am flying to San Diego for the week for work, and I could not be more excited. I will be off at 5 everyday and am planning on doing a little exploring every evening. Some of the things on my list include checking out the beaches, zoo, food and culture. Let me know if you have any recommendations for things I should put on my to-see list for “America’s Finest City”!

A couple weekends ago, I travelled with David and his family to the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC. We stayed in an adorable cabin at what seemed to be the top of a mountain and ate, drank wine and spent time outdoors. And the best part? No phone service. It was remarkable.
David has such a charming family. I am so lucky to get to spend time with them and enjoy their company. I can’t wait for my next vacation with them!

Today while looking for Christmas presents to buy my friends and family, I came across StickyGram, a company that allows you to upload your Instagram photos and create lovely little magnets.
A pack of 9 magnets is only $14.99 INCLUDING shipping worldwide! This would be a great last minute gift- it only takes seconds. All you do is link to your Instagram account and the images are automatically uploaded. Then you are able to pick 9 images you want to choose. Then you’re done!
I am considering buying these as a gift for either my sisters or friend. Happy shopping :).

This past weekend was a blast. Sunday was one of my oldest friend Kelley’s 22nd birthday, so to celebrate being old she had a “DINO-mite” birthday party. We found some goofy dinosaur hats at Dollar Tree and put on our meanest faces and acted like dinosaurs all night (whatever that even means). It was immature and definitely a lot of fun. Below are two pictures from that night. The other girls in the pictures are my other great friends Niki and Megan.
The next day, my boyfriend David and I made the trek to the beautiful Charleston, SC to do a review of Southern Living’s Taste of Charleston out at Boone Hall Plantation for our blog Capital City Eatz. Here is a pic of the Ravenel Bridge taken on the way there…
You can find a full review of the event on our site (up sometime this week) but in the meantime, here is a short recap. The event was essentially a food festival. All of the best restaurants from around Charleston set up booths and offered samples of their greatest meals. Everything was DELICIOUS. I could not believe I had not been to the festival before this year.
We also got introduced to some amazing people, including Jennifer Z from Time, Inc. and the hilarious Christy Jordan from Southern Living and author of the blog and cookbook Southern Plate. Christy even forced me to do the “YMCA” on stage with her and her staff!
I highly recommend everyone reading this to try and attend the event next year. You (+ your stomach) will not be disappointed!
This weekend I am going to the Isle of Palms with my family to celebrate my parents’ birthdays. My Dad is turning 50 this year! I will be sure to post about it after the festivities.
Have a great week!

Just got back from my weekend trip to Clemson University! I’ve always liked Clemson’s college town- its very clean and safe. Although it does get quite crowded, especially on game days, I always have a fantastic time. I’m glad that I have my boyfriend David, sister Tori, and oldest best friends Kelley and Niki to visit there! I can’t say I’m not glad to be back in the land of garnet and black though!
This weekend I am making the trip to Charleston to visit David’s younger brother Luke and join in the celebration of his 21st birthday, then driving back to Columbia for the USC vs. Auburn game! Cannot wait!
