airbnb

Tonight, I am hosting my first guests through Airbnb. If you’ve never heard of it…..

Founded in August of 2008 and based in San Francisco, California, Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world — online or from a mobile phone.

I travel for either work or play most weekends and often during the week, so I wanted to rent my place out for a little extra income while I am away. It has forced me to finish decorating the place (it has been 6 months since I moved in, after all!) and keep the place clean so that not much work has to go into preparing and cleaning the apartment for guests every weekend. The only thing I am concerned about is people stealing my personal belongings…it is definitely a practice in trust!

may days of summer

How crazy is it that August is already here? Shops have started putting out their Fall clothes and back-to-school sale ads are everywhere. In college, the start of August meant that it was time to move back into the dorm, reunite with friends and start classes. Now that I am in the working world, I feel like everything is happening around me and since I don’t go to school or have kids, life is just proceeding on as normal. I do miss buying back-to-school supplies and the excitement of new classes and new school year, but I am enjoying sitting on the sidelines and watching from a distance just enough.

Just because I mentioned that the transition from July ↠ August hasn’t meant much to me, doesn’t mean I haven’t had a lot going on this summer. Quite the opposite actually…

The first couple weekends in May were spent at graduations and weddings. It is wedding season, after all!

First up, we went to Caroline and PJ’s wedding in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I became great friends with Caroline playing with her on the USC Club Tennis team. We have so many college memories together, and I was so glad that David and I were there with her while she made one of her most important ones. Congratulations to Caroline and PJ!

Next was Jacob’s Graduation from high school. He has grown into quite the young man and I was so glad I was able to be there to support him on his big day.

Shortly after – actually the same exact night of Jacob’s graduation – I got to celebrate the wedding of my oldest friend Lindsey Wilder Mazzola! Unfortunately I had to miss the ceremony because I was at the graduation, but I still got to partake in the wedding festivities at our neighborhood country club.

This picture is of Lindsey and me at Medieval Times on a 4th grade field trip. My oh my have things changed since then!

This picture is of Lindsey, me and my other oldest (and best!) friend Niki. It was so good to celebrate together!

During all of the hustle and bustle of weddings and graduations, David got a new job in the city and moved into a great house with his friends Brock and Ian. His backyard is fantastic. They even have a bamboo “jungle” in the very back to separate their yard from the neighbors. He loves his new job — I am so proud of him!

Looking forward to seeing how well he does at this new company.

Thats it for May!

stroll through the queen city

Everyday, my beau and I take a walk through my neighborhood, sometimes switching it up by taking a stroll through the Queen City. Today we chose to walk during rush hour because we wanted to feel the energy of the hustle and bustle of everyone heading home for the evening. Here are some shots I captured during our stroll…

changing leaves

Happy-Fall

Saturday was the first day of Autumn. FINALLY. Between the football games, changing leaves, big slouchy sweaters and boots, pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween and leaving the windows open, there is no question that it is my favorite season of the year. Sorry Christmas, my vote is for Fall.

This will be my first Fall in the Queen City and I cannot wait to see how beautiful it will look all dressed up in a warm color palette. I am loving my new life so far, and can’t wait to see what this next season has in store for me!

A good number of my friends and family have asked for me to share some pictures of my new Queen City Apartment (technically a “condo”) in the since they have not had the opportunity to visit yet. I have been hesitant to show too much since I am not done decorating, but here are some sneak peeks…

I will be sure to post more when I am finished!

every which way

So tomorrow I will be graduating from the University of South Carolina. Wait, what? Tomorrow? I can’t believe that this phase of my life is coming to an end. I’ve had such a great time in college, and have learned so so much. I truly believe that I have grown as a person and professional during these last 4 years and can’t say I have too many regrets!

I will be sure to post pictures after the ceremonies and festivities! Until then…time to decide which job opportunity I want to accept! Where will I end up?

Where will I end up?

coachella

Have any of you ever been to Coachella? I’ve been hearing a lot about it, this year in particular. Here are some amazing pictures from the festival that one of my favorite bloggers {More Design Please} posted after her experience at the festival…

How beautiful are these pictures? Makes me want to go next year!

party in a box

How brilliant is this “Party in a Box” designed by Amanda Jane Jones as displayed on FPO | For Print Only?

When Cree’s 30th birthday rolled around and the party planning began, we realized that the people we wanted to invite lived too far away. So, instead …we sent the party to them. Life in review info-graphic included.

So clever! Many of my friends have plans of moving off to far and away lands after graduation so it sounds like I need to keep this in my idea bank for my future birthdays. Loving the infographic!
